Isle of Wight holiday must see – Bembridge Fort

Isle of Wight holiday cottageBembridge Fort is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by our Isle of Wight holiday guests. One of the Palmerston’s forts, it was acquired by the National Trust in 1967 but let to a factory. When the factory moved out in 1998, large areas of the fort were derelict and full of debris. The Trust has no funds to fully restore and open the fort so instead a small band of volunteers have focused on clearing the debris, maintenance and guided tours in the holiday season – a great opportunity to explore.
